Riding solo & unsupported across the United States of America on a Bicycle! This Blog tells the tale of a long haired English bloke on a bike called Shinto cycling across America starting in Oregon and ending in Yorktown Virginia, solo, no support vehicle, just a man, a bike and a tent on the Adventure Cycling Association Trans America Bicycle Trail. Please forgive the endless typos, this blog was uploaded as I rode from my Cellphone.

Well I am having a great time with tim and family here in wonderful Portland. I have photos but they don't upload from phone..have wait til I get to a WiFi zone. It's very hot and humid but bearable..if ever you come to the USA go to Portland..have been jamming with tim and Ron and went to the Saturday market and the Japanese gardens here both much recommended. Today I've unpacked and assembled Shinto and did an around the blocks test ride and all is fine. Had a polish meal tonight and I am so gratefully for the wonderful hospitality of tim and Chris here. I will start my ride wednesday morning at Tillamook on the pacific coast. Hope to get pics up soon.
