Phew!!...well that's gone and done it! I was just with Vanessa the travel agent and have booked up the flights..so there is no way out of this now lol! I fly into Portland Oregon on the 15th June and will ride the route West to East. I took this decision after talking with some friends in the states, reading posts on forums and checking weather maps...all of which indicated a need to be through the rockies by mid september really. I didnt want to be riding to a time deadline, against westerly winds and find that I got stuck this side of the mountains because I was 'late' lol!

I feel less anxious now...the deed is done and, all being well en route, I'm going to ride a bicycle across America!! Yeee Haw!

Right, time for a cuppa and then some serious gear checking tonight me thinks :)

HTC Desire S is the phone I have just bought...som far it's doing what it said on the tin and I'm loving it!...I got an unlocked one so I can use it in the States. I've managed to make a skype video call, get on facebook and send a few e mails...not bad for day one with a new toy. I've got this blog bookmarked in the phone as well, but I'm having trouble posting updates from the phone to this blog...which is a bummer because on the road I won' have this laptop with me! Must be a way somehow.
