Trans America Bicycle Ride

Riding solo & unsupported across the United States of America on a Bicycle! This Blog tells the tale of a long haired English bloke on a bike called Shinto cycling across America starting in Oregon and ending in Yorktown Virginia, solo, no support vehicle, just a man, a bike and a tent on the Adventure Cycling Association Trans America Bicycle Trail. Please forgive the endless typos, this blog was uploaded as I rode from my Cellphone.

Why?

Trans America Bicycle Tour

When I was 16 I cycled to Paris from Sussex England. many years later I cycled around the East Anglian coast in the UK, then from Bremen northern Germany down to the Med coast at Montpellier France, via Switzerland. I lost a lot of weight in the process. Recent events in my life have been painfull and difficult, but I prevailed. Riding across America has been something I dreamed about for years, but never thought it could happen, then I realized all I had to do was make it happen..so I am.

I would not have got this far even without the love of one man. My Rock, my Dad.

This is about one man's wish to break out, live a dream and never surrender.

I have no Idea if I can do this, but I am going to give it my best, for you Mum. RIP xxx

A song written about this trip by my friend Myke Steele of Tenessee

Another transam song from my friend Andy Mc Clelland

"I've paid my dues - Time after time - I've done my sentence But committed no crime - And bad mistakes I've made a few I've had my share of sand kicked in my face - But I've come through "

SO PROUD OF MY SON
